Jeep JK-JKU JL-JLU 14–18" 1-Ton 4-Link Suspension System
Overview
The Papi’s Garage Jeep 14–18" 4-Link Suspension System is a complete high-clearance suspension conversion engineered around a Ford Super Duty 1-ton axle swap, giving the JK platform the axle strength, track width, steering capability, and suspension travel required for serious 40"+ tire builds.
Designed for both 2-door and 4-door platforms, the system replaces the factory suspension architecture with a purpose-built front and rear 4-link configuration utilizing 12" travel coilovers at all four corners.
The finished suspension package is capable of clearing up to 44" tires while delivering over 48" of usable articulation when properly configured. The substantially wider track width of the Super Duty axles also gives these extremely tall Jeeps a much more planted footprint and improved road stability compared with a narrow factory-width axle configuration.
This is not simply a collection of axle brackets. The system ties the front suspension, rear suspension, steering, coilover mounts, axle trusses, track bars, and chassis structure together as one complete package designed specifically around the JK chassis.

Customer-Supplied Components
The following components are not included with the suspension system and must be supplied by the customer.
Front & Rear Axles
The system is designed around 2005+ Ford Super Duty 1-ton differentials.
- 2005+ Super Duty axles are compatible
- 2013+ axles are recommended
- 2017+ axles are highly recommended
Later-model Super Duty axles provide several advantages for builds of this scale and are our preferred starting point whenever possible.
Both front and rear axle assemblies are customer supplied.
Steering System
A PSC steering gearbox and hydraulic-assist steering system is required.
The Papi’s Garage front suspension includes the necessary fabricated hydro-assist mounting provisions along with the DOM / heim steering linkage and billet ram clamp.
Coilovers
The system is designed around your choice of 12" travel coilovers at all four corners.
Coilovers are sold separately unless specifically included with your order.
Built for Large-Tire JK / JKU Builds
Moving a JK onto 1-ton Super Duty axles creates a dramatically stronger foundation for large tires while also increasing overall track width.
That additional width is particularly important on a Jeep running 14–18 inches of suspension lift and up to a 44-inch tire, providing a broader and more planted stance for both street driving and off-road use.
The four-link geometry and 12" coilover configuration provide substantial controlled suspension travel, allowing properly configured builds to achieve more than 48 inches of articulation while maintaining a suspension package intended to remain usable on the road.
Papi’s Garage Construction
Like our full-size truck suspension systems, the JK / JKU 4-Link System is designed, fabricated, and assembled with structural components intended for serious vehicle builds.
Primary suspension structures are fabricated from precision CNC laser-cut 1/4" steel, with each component designed around the loads generated by large tires, 1-ton axles, long-travel coilovers, and hydraulic-assist steering.
Components are formed, fixture-welded, and assembled in-house for consistent fitment and repeatable suspension geometry.
Our linkage assemblies utilize heavy-wall DOM tubing and large PTFE-lined heim joints throughout the suspension and steering systems where applicable.
Billet components are machined from 6061-T6 aluminum, including the reservoir mounting and hydro-assist hardware used throughout the system.
Every major component is designed in-house by Papi’s Garage and manufactured in the USA with an emphasis on strength, serviceability, clean installation, and the fabrication detail expected from one of our complete suspension systems.
Installation & Axle Conversion Notes
This suspension system is designed as a fully bolt-on installation with zero welding required on the vehicle.
Because the kit fundamentally changes the suspension architecture and converts the vehicle to Super Duty 1-ton axles, installation does require cutting and drilling of the factory JK / JKU chassis.
The customer must supply the appropriate 2005+ Ford Super Duty front and rear axle assemblies, with 2013+ recommended and 2017+ highly recommended, along with the required PSC steering and coilover components.
Professional installation and proper suspension, steering, driveline, brake, and alignment setup are strongly recommended for a conversion of this scale.
